Bespoke and Personal Cupcakes
12/12/2011 6:46:43 PM

The great thing about Cupcakes is you can personalise them to say something about you - or your Celebration. Visit the last page on the Gallery to view The Aqua and Silver Cupcakes were for Caroline who hosted her 21st Wedding Anniversary Party at the Balmer Lawn ~ at the same time as it was her son's 21st and her daughter's 18th ~ great timing Caroline! Sonia married her Navy sweetheart at the historic Royal Navy Club in Southsea, and chose a cake which combined her feminine side with his chosen career. And Tiffany celebrated her 40th birthday in style with a Tiara and Tuxedo themed party at The Milton Barns, New Milton! See more

From Vibrant to Elegant!
8/27/2011 4:29:39 PM

This week's Weddings have taken me to Sparsholt College, Winchester where Gemma ...and Gary created a fabulous party atmosphere with their eye-popping lime green and hot pink colour scheme!

Rachel and John stuck with the 'vibrant' theme, choosing a striking pillar box red for their Wedding at the beautiful Moorhill House Hotel.

Finally, I've been having a little 'play' with sugar, creating an elegant Rose and Freesia top tier posy ready for a Vintage themed display for an upcoming Wedding Fair - really pleased with the result :o)

Check out the Gallery for photos.

Summer Wedding Cupcake Towers x 2 !
8/6/2011 3:17:51 PM

I haven't posted photos for a while as I've done a lot of 'repeats' of ones I've... done before - LOTS of 'Cadbury Purple'!

However, yesterday I did a summery yellow butterfly and gerbera Cupcake Tower for Rachel and Phil's Wedding at the New Park Hotel in Brockenhurst ~ followed by a sumptuous ivory and gold rose & hearts for Debbie and Steve who had their Ceremony at the historic Masonic Lodge in Chandlers Ford. Their Cupcake Tower was finished with a tangy lemon sponge top tier adorned with a sugar rose bouquet (my first, but hopefully not my last, as I think it looks gorgeous - even if I say so myself!)

Purple Calla Lily Cupcake Weddings!
6/27/2011 8:13:17 PM
Rich Cadbury Purple and Calla Lillies were the theme for both of this weekend's ...Weddings.

Firstly, Laura and Grant married at the exclusive 'Farbridge' Wedding venue near Chichester, choosing a selection of purple and ivory Callas and Hearts. Their Cupcake Tower was finished with a rich fruit cake decorated with a hearts & crystals 'starburst'.

A short time later Victoria and Nathan tied the knot at the beautiful Tithe Barn, Petersfield. Their colour scheme also included the very popular Cadbury Purple together with Calla Lilies, Petunias and Sugar Rose Petals. They chose to have a Giant Chocolate Cupcake to finish their display.

A Busy Week in 'Cupcake Magic' Land!
6/17/2011 5:15:46 PM
It's been a busy old week here in 'Cupcake Magic' Land! Firstly, a small but per...fectly formed white, silver and teal display for Rachel and Ben's intimate Wedding at  the gorgeous boutique Hotel Terravina. This was followed by the creation of a Giant Cupcake complete with Christian Louboutin shoe (courtesy of the Red Hen Cake company) for Claire's 40th. Today we have created a lovely pink rose, rose petal and petunia flower display for Lesley and John's Wedding at the sumptuous Elmers Court Hotel. Finally, a fun Union Jack inspired Giant Cupcake for Sharon's Best Of British 'come-dine-with-me' dinner party ~ hope she wins!

See all cakes in the Cupcake Photo Gallery.

Not A Cupcake!
6/5/2011 12:54:55 PM

Sometimes it's really lovely to do something a bit different and for that I thank  Carolyn at 'Cake Matters' for holding my hand every step of the way whilst learning how to make this stunning black and white cake - sadly, not actually 'cake' so can't be eaten - but still looks amazing! I always learn so much on one of her course and would highly recommend her to anyone thinking about doing anything 'cake'.

Another beautiful Wedding Day!
6/5/2011 12:40:06 PM

Something I particularly love about this 'job' is I get to visit some beautiful New Forest venues ~ the Sopley Mill rates as one of the best. A beautiful Grade II listed building overlooking the River Avon, dating back to the Doomsday book!

Lisa and John chose this fabulous location to marry and celebrate with their friends and family on the hottest day of 2011 ~ and I was delighted to create a pretty pink and white butterfly cupcake tower, with raspberry & vanilla cupcakes topped with white chocolate frosting - yum!

This weekend was a romantic one ~ yesterday I was delighted to create a Cupcake Tower for Helen and David's Wedding at The Beaulieu Hotel on Saturday ~ their colour scheme was green and they wanted to include flowers as their decorations ~ they chose a selection of pretty sugar petunia flowers, which were complimented by ivy leaves. The top tier cake was decorated with a simple fresh flower posy.

Today it was the turn of Kim and Paul to celebrate their Marriage today at the beautiful 4-star Balmer Lawn Hotel. They delighted their guests with a tower of rich chocolate and vanilla bean cupcakes, decorated with ivory/gold gerbera daisies. The top tier cake was finished with a gerbera, hearts and crystal 'starburst'.

I was lucky enough to see them perform the 'cake cutting ceremony' so sneaked a little pic!

See GALLERY for pictures.

It's been a while but ...
5/14/2011 8:02:43 PM

... I thought it was about time to update you with Cupcake Magic News!

April 29th 2011 will, for many, be remembered for the day 'Wills and Kate' tied the knot. However, it was also the magical date Gemma and Piete also got married at the equally grand Goodwood House, one of England's finest stately homes. Cupcake Magic was very proud to have been asked to create a beautiful vintage themed Cupcake Tower for their Wedding, which took pride-of-place in front of a floor-to-ceiling gold  mirror. See Gallery for photos.

Today I travelled up to West Sussex to the gorgeous Kings Arms Hotel, Fernhurst to deliver a Cupcake Tower for Alice and James' Wedding. They had rich chocolate cupcakes with vanilla bean frosting were decorated with silver white roses, aqua and silver sparkle hearts ~ they had a rich carrot cake for the top tier, decorated with three hand-made sugar roses. Sugar perfection! And, to make it even better (for me!) I've  just discovered this venue is owned and run by Marco Pierre-White ... hope he tastes my cupcakes!

Cupcake Magic was delighted to create beautiful Cupcake Towers for Jo and Rob's ...Tropical Themed Wedding at the gorgeous Stanwell House Hotel, Lymington ~ and also for Natalie and Dean who had a black and gold colour scheme for their Wedding at the Bartley Lodge Hotel which was reflected in their Cupcake Tower enhanced by using black filigree cupcake wrappers ~ simply stunning.

Another busy cake week!
4/14/2011 9:11:58 AM

Despite being on half-term holidays (yes, I have a 'day job' too!) it has been a very busy cake week.

I have taken my first confirmed 2012 Wedding booking, having been invited to make a Cupcake Tower for Hayley and Mike's Wedding at the Old Thorns Hotel in Liss. Also, after a lovely, chatty meeting with Andy and Richard, they have asked me to create a bespoke tower of Cupcakes for their Civil Parntership in Southampton later this year.

I've also created a musical themed Giant Cupcake for Jenny's 16th, and a gorgeous, brightly coloured pink/orange swirled Giant Cupcake for Olivia's 13th. Both girls were delighted with the look of their cakes ~ and I know will have enjoyed the taste too!

At the moment I am making preparations for this weekend's Weddings ~ two of them, both on Sunday. Jo and Rob are tying the knot at the beautiful Stanwell House Hotel, Lymington; whist Caroline and Richard are having an intimate ceremony and celebration at the Woodlands Hotel, Cadnam.

Now, I really must stop 'task avoiding' and get on with making 50 white roses!

Introducing the Cupcake Magic Blog
4/8/2011 7:36:51 PM

Good Evening All Cupcake Fans!

I thought it about time Cupcake Magic had it's own 'blog' page to keep you in touch with what's happening in Cupcake Land! About now is the time we start getting into Wedding Season which means each weekend I'll be busy creating beautiful, bespoke little cakes to complement many Wedding Receptions ~ not to mention Giant Cupcakes for birthdays, anniversaries and just to say 'thank you'.

This weekend I was delighted to be asked to provide a display of cakes for Carrie-Anne and Chris's Wedding at The George Hotel, Odiham. Their colour scheme was this year's hot trend, Cadbury Purple, which they complemented with lilac, white and silver ~ see their photos on the Gallery (search for "Cadbury Purple").

This weekend I'm also creating a 'musical' Giant Cupcake for a 18th Birthday, and a funky orange and pink one for a 13th Birthday ~ pictures to follow.
